Spring break for people on the quarter system up here at the University of Chicago was March 21 - March 28th.
I think we were both relieved the semester was over.
We finished 2 courses in the Winter 08 semester.
But here are some pictures from my parents house in Missouri:
This is an oak gaul, gauls are caused by a variety of things, one of the most common is the gaul wasp. The wasp lays eggs in the oak and then secretes a chemical that causes the oak to form the gaul around the growing insect. This particular oak tree has been struck by lightening at least twice.
The star magnolias were blooming . . . seeing these pictures helps me keep the spring in my heart, as it's snowing outside right now April 12 in Chicago.
We came back to Chicago and had the energy to start working again on finishing the remodel ... we put up a bunch of 3 * 6 tavertine on the walls we just refinished. We've decided we like to tile better than drywall, since tiling makes the surface look so finished.
