San Clemente

We made it out to the west coast on Saturday and immediately started viewing places to live.  We saw every property in the "Beach Cities" meaning the towns stretching along the coast on Pacific Coast Highway, from the south to north starting just north of Camp Pendleton Marine Base: San Clemente, Dana Point, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, and Huntington Beach. 

We looked at 3 places on Saturday, 4 properties on Sunday, 8 on Monday, 1 on Tuesday, and 1 on Wednesday -- 17 properties in 5 days.  This is probably the most through search I've ever done for a place to live.

I loved Laguna Beach and wanted to live there, to be center for the Pageant of the Masters and Sawdust, but because of all the wonderful festivals -- the rent has gone up and artists are moving out, just like the East Village in New York. 

We found a place in San Clemente that we are really excited about, close to work, and in excellent condition with a view of the ocean and lots of sun.  The property is a stand alone house up in the hills.
