The Petrified Forest

The Petrified Forest National Park on part of the larger Painted Desert region in upper Arizona. 
Both Matt & I were disappointed that the petrified trees were all horizontal -- we thought a petrified forest should be standing upright.

Matt is holding the Simon we picked up in New Orleans, Simon's work is pervasive in New Orleans -- probably because unlike the work sold in the Vieux Carre (blue dogs and such), Simon's work is affordable.  Many local businesses on Magazine and elsewhere have "Open / Closed" signs painted by Simon, as well as "Be nice or leave" signs.
